10 Months

Today I packed up Calleigh's vibrating/bouncy seat. The one that would put her to sleep and she would stay asleep in for hours. I almost cried! This time last year I was unpacking all of the gifts, washing all the tiny clothes and trying to get ready for our little girl. Now I have already gone through her clothes and given most of them to our neighbor who is having a little girl in February. I kept a few things for Calleigh. We are not sure when or if we will have another baby so we didn't want all the cute clothes to go to waste.

Calleigh is growing up fast. I know all parents must say that but you don't actually believe it until you are a parent. She has added a few more words. She says " I love you" OK so it doesn't come out clear but she says all 3 words and they sound like "ahh uub ooooh" She is cruising around the house too. She loves to walk around with her little walker toy or holding on to our hands. She plays fetch and keep away with the dogs. She and Scooby got into their first argument. Calleigh bit him! Those two little bottom teeth are sharp. She does pretty well at keeping herself entertained but has started the mommy attachment. We are working on that.

Last week she had pink eye. We missed Thanksgiving with the family because of it. I bought a turkey and we had a little dinner just us. Ben said it was the best turkey he has ever had and hasn't stopped telling people about it. Mostly because he cooked it on the bbq. Thursday night Calleigh broke out in hives and then again on Friday (leftovers.) We are thinking mashed potatoes. So last week she has been cutting 1 or 2 new teeth, had pink eye and hives. Fun! But she is a trooper and still was a pretty well behaved baby girl.

Ben put up all the lights outside and Calleigh and I decorated the inside minus the tree. We are waiting a bit for that.

Oh and look at all that hair! It may not seem like much to you but all of a sudden her hair started growing! I expect to be able to do a pony tail by February!

9 Month Check Up

Calleigh had her 9 month check up today. She is 16 lbs and 28 1/2 inches long. She was supposed to get a flu shot but they were out of them so I have to take her to the health department. Her doctor detected a small heart murmur. She will need to go to KGH to have an EKG to see if it is anything to worry about. Dr. Pabalan doesn't think so since she is such a healthy little girl. She did have one shot today. I can't remember what it was. But she only cried for a minute. Cheesy puffs shut a Calleigh up quick! LOL Yes I comfort my child with food. She passed out in the car and is fast asleep!

9 Months

Ok so I am horrible. Ben use to say all the time "isn't she great? she does this whole blog thing" Psshhh that was before Calleigh was on the move! This kid is going all day. I use to have time to work, do housework and play a little on the Internet. Now I rush to get work done! But I wouldn't have it any other way. She is so full of life. Unbelievable! I guarantee she will be walking on her own before February. She says a handful of words. Hi, dada, mama, hi doggy, hi LuLu (we call Phoebe Lulu a lot) nummy, and my favorite...BAD DOGGY! I love it. Obviously Mama says it a little too much! LOL Ben weighed her tonight and he thinks she is around 16 lbs. We have a doctors appointment next week so we will know for sure. She feels a lot more solid to me but people still say the same dang thing to me every week at Walmart. "she is so cute, how old? oh she is tiny"
Her eyes have not even started to change. They are the same amazing blue since she was born. Believe me those eyes will come in handy some day! She just doesn't know it yet. She knows what "no" means and has started to throw a bit of a fit when she hears it. But honestly she is a great little girl. We never worry about taking her anywhere! We are very lucky and we know it!

Happy Halloween

Calleigh's first Halloween was a lot of fun! We started Thursday night carving the pumpkin that Papa Jim grew just for her. Well Ben carved it and I kept Calleigh and the pups from eating the guts. For some reason the dogs absolutely love pumpkin! As you can see Calleigh loved giving the pumpkin kisses. We went with the traditional carving of triangles for eyes and nose and a mouth with one tooth!

Calleigh was a spider for Halloween and of course I had to put the dogs in their Halloween outfits. We just went to a few places. Nanna Jan's and Cedars to see Dave and Darci. Then we heading to Aunite Lis's for some nummy stew. Ben and I both commented that is was our best Halloween ever. Just nice to sit and relax and watch all the little cuties (and some not so cuties) come to the door. Calleigh was so tired from all the festivities she was almost falling asleep on the floor. Next year we will be out trick-0-treating with the rest of the parents. Hopefully it will be as warm and nice as it was this year.

Go Hawks!

So Ben won tickets to a Seahawks game and Calleigh and I got to go. We thought it would be fun to take Lis and Adam (Ben's Sister & Brother) along! Fun times! Before we left I got the same question over and over "you are taking Calleigh?" I started to rethink my decision. But like everything I started looking it up on Babycenter.com and was reassured by plenty of parents that no one would be calling CPS on me for taking my child to a football game. Even if it was Qwest Field! I get it...it is suppose to be so loud. But guess what. My little pookie pants slept for the whole first half and she cheered for the 2nd half. She is meant to be a football fan. After all she was born on Superbowl Sunday! We had an awsome time and Calleigh was of course a piece of cake!

Almost 8 months

Well I haven't done much updating because Calleigh keeps us busy, busy, busy. She is on the move constantly. She can crawl but she would much rather just "army crawl" because she knows she can do it faster. She is now pulling herself up on furniture, standing in her crib and climbing stairs. Yes climbing stairs! She is starting to figure out the whole foot thing and how to position herself. I am afraid to say it but I think she will be walking before we know it. She just doesn't like to sit still.

Calleigh is also learning what "no" means. It was so hard for me to tell her no and then she would cry. Now I know she knows what no means. LOL She listens pretty well and has even started to leave the dog bowls alone. She pulls my hair and has started scratching faces. Normal stuff! I tell her no when she scratches and then she laughs. Testing us for sure! Sometimes it is hard not to laugh with her because she is so darn cute! She has also become daddy's little girl. When Ben gets home from work she will cry until he takes her. She snuggles in on his shoulder and just gives him some major loves! I absolutely love that!

She is growing well. She is a little over 14lbs and tall. I love going to Walmart and people stop to tell me how cute she is...then ask me how old she is...then tell me how skinny she is. She takes after her daddy ok. She eats like a pig I swear. And I don't think she is skinny just slender! She is an active little girl and I hope she forever stays that way!

The rest of the family is doing well to. Scooby and Phoebe are enjoying the 90 degree weather in the fall. They are also enjoying all the snacks that the baby "gives" to them. Instead of loosing weight this summer like he usually does Scooby is a chubby boy.

Ben and I will be celbrating our one year Anniversary on October 4th. Hard to believe only 1 year has gone by. We are working as a team as much as we can. Of course having a baby makes everyone disagree at some point. But I think we are pretty good parents so far. Calleigh seems to like us and we still like eachother!
