We had a doctors appointment yesterday. Well we actually had one for last Friday but after getting Calleigh all ready and getting to the office a good 15 minutes early and waiting in line for 10 minutes just to be told that her doctor was not in but I could see another doctor and then wait for another 25 minutes in a room full of sick kids just to find out in fact Calleigh would not be seeing any doctor that day. Oops I digress :) So Calleigh got to see her doctor yesterday. She had to get her second Hep B shot. Of course that did not make her a happy camper. But being the good baby she is (and yes I will continue to brag about what a great baby we have) she only cried for about 2 minutes. She is in the 25th percentile. She weighed in at 8 pounds 9 ounces and measures 21 inches! Our little girl is growing! I am being honest when I say she is a good little girl. Of course she has her moments (don't we all) but in general she is a text book baby! She started smiling and has even let out a little laugh. It makes being up at 4:00 am not so bad when you have such a beautiful little face smiling at you! She is noticing so much more these days. Turning her head towards sounds and finding things to stare at. All in all life is still pretty dang good.
We are headed to the West Side this weekend. My sisters and some friends have not met Calleigh. Hopefully the passes will be good for her first road trip. Should be a fun one. We are invading Auntie Jessica's house. So look out Jess here comes a 6 week old and 2 weenies! Hope you didn't plan on any quiet time this weekend!

We Love Daddy
So I know that a lot of women think that men should not be overly praised for doing things that should be part of ordinary day but I say poo to that! There are not a lot of men that I know that take the time to just sit and talk with their babies, jump up to change diapers, or offer to hold a screaming baby just to hold her. I for one am happy that Calleigh has such a hands on daddy. Ben has been extremely patient. Before Calleigh was even here we had this little joke about T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Acheives More) He stole it from one of his friends. . I try to remember T.E.A.M. when times get a little rough. Things will only get worse if we don't work together. My stress level would be sky high if Ben were not around to keep me grounded. Calleigh gets cranky from 7-9 every night. The other night Ben turned up the Jazz music and rocked her to sleep while I took a long bath and enjoyed a glass of wine. The kid slept from 9pm - 2am. It was great! It is the little things he does that help so much. Like taking the dogs outside to play ball or burping Calleigh after I feed her. I don't have to ask him to do these things. He just does them! So I guess all I am saying is heres to the men that actually think that taking care of a baby is not all the womens' responsibility. To the ones that realise that moms (especially first timers) need all the support they can get! Thank you Ben for all you do! I can't tell you enough how much we appreciate you. We would be lost without you! Love you!

1 Month, Daddy's Birthday and Aunt Carrie and Uncle Mike Visit
How Calleigh is growing! Ben weighed her (on our home scale) and we figure she is about 8 lbs! We have had a few rough days and nights trying to get her on a schedule. She is still sleeping 3-4 hours at a time. But she gets a little cranky around 7:00 PM. For the last two days she really does not want to lay down for a morning nap. We may be tired but we are still enjoying every second of it!
Friday was Ben's 34th birthday. We had a little get together at Cedars. I forgot my camera but Auntie Leslie got a few of Calleigh all dressed up for Daddy! She was very good and got to be held by just about everyone! We are officially parents! We were home by 9:00 watching Titanic and trying not to pass out on the couch! Auntie Carrie and Uncle Mike came to visit. It was nice and relaxing. They left Saturday afternoon to get back to their two boys. Thanks for all the great stuff Cares and Mike! We really appreciate it!
Here are pictures ! Enjoy!

3 weeks and Auntie Jessica visits!

%5B1%5D.jpg)
We can't believe 3 weeks has gone by already and how much Calleigh has changed! She is getting so much personality and we are getting to know her cries, likes and dislikes. She is sleeping pretty good at night. Oh I could go on and on about our little girl! She also had a doctors appointment on Friday to check her growth. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 4 oz and grew 3/4 of an inch! Whoohoo! Her doctor says Ben and I are doing great and Calleigh is very healthy. Always nice to have that reassurance!
We gave Calleigh her first "real bath." Her umbilical cord fell off so she was able to go all the way into the water. I made the mistake of too much soap in the water. The bubbles were everywhere! She enjoyed most of it! I will remember to just put a drop on the washrag from now on.
Auntie Jessica came to visit this last weekend. We took Calleigh on her first shoping trip! Then we all came home and laid around on the couch like old times. That night Jessica made her famous little pizzas and KariAnne stopped by with more junk food! So we all just sat around chit chatting about nothing. It was exactly what I have been needing! Even Ben had a good time just hanging out with the girls!
Today Calleigh spent her first morning with someone other than Ben or me. She got to go stay at Grammy Diane's house while I got my hair done! Thanks Grammy! I am going back to work starting next week but only Tuesday and Wednesday. It is going to be hard to leave my little one but it will be with Grammy so I know she will be fine!

Valentines Day, First Bath and 2 weeks old
Well two weeks has just flown by! Every day Calleigh is more beautiful to us! It is hard not to just hold her and stare! Especially when she starts making all those cute little faces. She had her first bath on Valentines Day. As you can see she wasn't all that happy. But it was quick and she was smiling once she was in her big towel being held by daddy! Which reminds me...Calleigh hates having her diaper changed. When I change her she cries pretty much the entire time. I didn't really take it personally until I started noticing how much she doesn't cry when Ben does it. Ah the makings of Daddy's Little Girl already!
We spent our Valentines night at home. Which is usually what we do . I cooked dinner and we watched Step Brothers. I even had some wine. One glass felt like I drank a whole bottle!
Calleigh has a doctors appointment on Friday to see if she is back to her birth weight. We are pretty sure she is more since she is now fitting into a few of the newborn clothes. Plus she is having no trouble eating at all. Things are settling in just fine.

Happy 1 Week!
So little Calleigh is one week old and already I see so much personality coming through. We are getting used to her faces, her cries and of course her sleeping and eating schedule. We have had a couple of rough nights. They haven't been too bad. I guess it helps a ton that Ben and I are on the same track and are having a pretty easy time working as a team. After all we are both after the same thing. A full nights sleep in a few weeks! Last night was Calleigh's best night so far. She was a little gassy but she fell asleep at 9:00 and I had to wake her up to feed her at 2:00. She was awake for a good amount of time during the day so I think she was just tired! Hopefully we are on to some sort of schedule! I started reading to her this morning. She loves it! Her little eyes just fixate on my mouth and she just listens to my voice. We read 2 books then it was time for a nap.
My mom comes today. I am so excited for her to meet Calleigh. Plus I haven't seen her since October! I have caught a cold :( Not too bad but when you are already not getting a lot of sleep and you just don't feel good it just wears you out. Good thing Calleigh is pretty much a good little girl!
I better get in the shower while Calleigh and the pups are sleeping! I will post some one week pictures later!

Calleigh Jessica Murphy
Well she is here! At about 3:00AM Superbowl Sunday Miss Calleigh decided it was time that she enter our world. It is very fitting that she choose this day! I am sure Ben will always remember this Superbowl! After about 16 hours of labor she finally made her way at 7:55. She weighed 6 lbs, 15 oz and is 19 inches long. She is absolutely the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. I know I am being partial! But aren't all mommies? So we had to stay in the hospital for 48 hours. We finally got to come home last night around 9:00. Scooby and Phoebe were very curious at first. Phoebe actually barked at her! But now I call Phoebe little momma! She goes everywhere I go with Calleigh and Scooby stands guard of both of his little sisters! Ben is doing great too. Aside from having a cold which kept him from the hospital all day yesterday (he was not happy about this at all.) Now he wears a face mask just so he can hold her. I am feeling great! Way better than I thought. It just feels so good to be home with my family! I could never ask for anything more! Here are some pictures from the big day! I am off to take a nap before the next feeding. Thank you to everyone for all your well wishes. I hope you all get a chance to come by and see Calleigh!
