Go Hawks!
So Ben won tickets to a Seahawks game and Calleigh and I got to go. We thought it would be fun to take Lis and Adam (Ben's Sister & Brother) along! Fun times! Before we left I got the same question over and over "you are taking Calleigh?" I started to rethink my decision. But like everything I started looking it up on Babycenter.com and was reassured by plenty of parents that no one would be calling CPS on me for taking my child to a football game. Even if it was Qwest Field! I get it...it is suppose to be so loud. But guess what. My little pookie pants slept for the whole first half and she cheered for the 2nd half. She is meant to be a football fan. After all she was born on Superbowl Sunday! We had an awsome time and Calleigh was of course a piece of cake!

Almost 8 months
Well I haven't done much updating because Calleigh keeps us busy, busy, busy. She is on the move constantly. She can crawl but she would much rather just "army crawl" because she knows she can do it faster. She is now pulling herself up on furniture, standing in her crib and climbing stairs. Yes climbing stairs! She is starting to figure out the whole foot thing and how to position herself. I am afraid to say it but I think she will be walking before we know it. She just doesn't like to sit still.
Calleigh is also learning what "no" means. It was so hard for me to tell her no and then she would cry. Now I know she knows what no means. LOL She listens pretty well and has even started to leave the dog bowls alone. She pulls my hair and has started scratching faces. Normal stuff! I tell her no when she scratches and then she laughs. Testing us for sure! Sometimes it is hard not to laugh with her because she is so darn cute! She has also become daddy's little girl. When Ben gets home from work she will cry until he takes her. She snuggles in on his shoulder and just gives him some major loves! I absolutely love that!
She is growing well. She is a little over 14lbs and tall. I love going to Walmart and people stop to tell me how cute she is...then ask me how old she is...then tell me how skinny she is. She takes after her daddy ok. She eats like a pig I swear. And I don't think she is skinny just slender! She is an active little girl and I hope she forever stays that way!
The rest of the family is doing well to. Scooby and Phoebe are enjoying the 90 degree weather in the fall. They are also enjoying all the snacks that the baby "gives" to them. Instead of loosing weight this summer like he usually does Scooby is a chubby boy.
Ben and I will be celbrating our one year Anniversary on October 4th. Hard to believe only 1 year has gone by. We are working as a team as much as we can. Of course having a baby makes everyone disagree at some point. But I think we are pretty good parents so far. Calleigh seems to like us and we still like eachother!
Here are some pics of Ms. Calleigh! Enjoy!

We had some family photos done! About time since Calleigh is now 7 months. We decided to have Sydney and Sierra come so all the Grand Girls could get some photos done. Alisa decided to have her and the girls pictures done as well. As always they turned out fabulous thanks to Ms. KariAnne Deines. Visit her site at www.secreatsmilestudio.blogspot.com. Enjoy!

The 25 things I have learned.....so far.
1. I would rather have my daughter's trust then a full nights sleep anytime.
2. When my baby wakes up with a smile and I am the first to see it, I am guaranteed an awesome day.
3. It is ok to feel like I need a break and I need to take more of them.
4. My daughters curiosity makes me rediscover all the wonders of the simple life. A dog bowl is somehow the most interesting thing in our house these days!
5. A 7 month old does not know what 1 second means unless you are talking about the time it takes to get from the living room to the dog bowl by army crawling!
6. A glass of wine and 15 minutes in the hot tub with my husband is the best vacation ever!
7. My dogs are great "babysitters"
8. Just because she says daddy first doesn't mean she loves him more.
9. Sitting in the grass with mommy just talking is a fun thing to do.
10. I don't ever want to be a single mom. I am not strong or patient enough.
11. To go along with #10. There are times when I "think" my husband doesn't do enough. Then he is gone for a night and I realize he does.
12. I haven't talked to some great friends in a long time. I know they are still there for me and they understand that I am still getting used to this mommy thing.
13. Telling my daughter no for the first time broke my heart. But she and I will both get over it.
14. The people you expected the least from support you the most when you have a baby.
15. Dog toys = baby toys and vice versa.
16. My house is way smaller than I thought!
17. The most tech savvy, expensive, bling blinging toy is never going to take the place of my one on one interaction with my baby.
18. My gag reflex is almost non-existent. There is something about a poopie diaper that will change a women.
19. Work, grocery shopping and dust bunnies will still be there tomorrow. My time with my baby is precious.
20. When my husband tells me I am beautiful I believe him. After all I am wearing shorts with holes in them, my hair is un straigtened and pulled back and I have spit up, sweet potatoes and breast milk all over my shirt.
21. Wiener dogs clean up best!
22. I used to remember every detail of everything. Now...not so much.
23. Take other moms' advice. You can choose to throw it away after they walk away.
24. How my daughter is dressed is more important then how I am.
25. Take every day one day at a time. I worried constantly about the what if and how are we going to. My daughter is content. She smiles when I do the right thing and cries when I don't. I trust her judgement. She WILL tell me when I am wrong and expect nothing less from her!

Priest Lake 2009
So here we are! Priest Lake 2009! I first went to Priest Lake with Ben and his family in 2006. 2007 we took Scooby with us. 2008 Phoebe came too and I was pregnant. 2009 the dogs stayed home and it was all about Calleigh! She had a blast! It was our first family vacation. Thanks Grammy Di and Poppa Dave for letting us stay with you! It was nice and relaxing and Calleigh did awesome. I obviously need to get her a sand box ASAP! She could have played in the sand all day if we weren't so worried about her delicate skin. We were sad to leave on Tuesday when the rest of the family stays until Saturday but reality was waiting.

We took a trip to the West Side last weekend. We got to see my mom, sister, niece and great -nephew. Plus Calleigh got to meet Grandpa Bill for the first time! We stayed with Auntie Jessica on Friday. Somehow we didn't get any pictures of that :( Saturday Ben, Calleigh and I spent the day just hanging out. We went to Alki (very foggy), Spuds in Juanita and Juanita Beach. Then it was time to go to Granite Falls for Carrie's surprise bday party. We stayed at Carrie's and left Sunday morning for home. By the time we hit Granger Calleigh was sick of being in the car. It was hard to keep her entertained. The car pictures are from my attempt to make a happy baby! She is really in to sticking her tongue out!

6 months is here already!
Here we are! Six months since my little Calleigh was born. She has changed so much! We are totally in love with her and cannot wait to see all the new things she learns. As of right now she is "army crawling" She can get across a room in 2 seconds! We are pretty sure she is trying to say daddy. Every time Ben comes in the room she says what sounds like "ghee" so we say "daddy" and she says "ghee." Not sure but we are just gonna run with it! The teething stage has really kicked in. A few times it has interrupted her sleep but mostly she just gets grouchy and wants to chew everything. She is eating solids very well. We even started eating some meats and she loves turkey (pureed with apple juice of course.)
Her six month check up was today. We think she weighed 13 lbs, 10 oz and we don't know how long she is. LOL She was crying and her doctor's nurse was not in. But we did get that she is growing just fine!
Here are some pics from our trip to Seattle on her actual six month day. I will post another blog
with pictures from the rest of our trip later. This is Calleigh at Juanita Beach sticking her toes in the water for the first time. She was a little concerned!
