8 Months!!!! Really??

I am officially 8 months pregnant! 32 weeks. I was 6 weeks when we found out. Seems like so long ago but it actually came quick. Only 55 or so days to go! It seems like all I can think about is baby, baby, baby. Sounds like I might be annoyed right? Not in the least. See I really don't mind being pregnant. It is a very exciting, scary, and amazing journey. The changes a womens body can make to grow this little human is a miracle. It is a superpower! LOL Now although I don't mind being pregnant I pretty much would just like to have her here already! I sit and watch my belly move and I picture what she is doing, what look is on her face and wonder how she is feeling. I am ready to hold her. I am ready to see the look on Ben's face when he holds his little girl for the first time. Just him holding my belly while she kicks at him makes me want to cry each and every time. Calleigh and I already have a special bond. After all she has been living in me for 8 months now. But I know Ben and her will have something so different. I know this because I know him. I see the excitment in his face and hear the joy in his voice every time he says her name. That is what I can't wait for the most. I can't wait for my daughter and her daddy to meet!

Thanksgiving...and a doctors appointment

Thanksgiving came and went by really fast this year. We had a great relaxing time though. We usually are able to drive up to see my family for an early or later Thanksgiving but two 3 hour car rides in one month just doesn't sound good to a 7 1/2 month pregnant girl. So Wednesday afternoon we loaded up Adam's (Ben's brother) car with all of our stuff and two weenie dogs to drive to Ben's parents River House. It is located I think an hour or so past Asotin. Don't know where that is? I had never heard of it either. But anyway... the River house is very relaxing and quiet. Thanksgiving Day Ben went fishing. He caught 2 steal head and a carp. He had a great time and definitely needs to go back soon. I watched the parade with Sydney and read. Alisa and Diane cooked an amazing dinner. The dogs were lazy and sat by the fire pretty much the entire time except when they were barking at Doug's Chocolate Lab Charlie. For some reason they just didn't get along! Ben got up Friday morning to fish a bit and then we left for home. We spent the rest of our weekend organizing and decorating for Christmas.

We had another doctors appointment today. They are now every two weeks. My glucose test came back great and so did all my blood work. Calleigh is growing just fine and is as active as ever! I am back to being tired again. The second trimester was great. I had this sudden burst of energy and at times I even forgot I was pregnant. Not so much anymore. After work I just want to put on my sweats, crawl on the couch and do nothing. This feeling along with my ever growing sweet tooth has made my weight gain apparent. It is not bad I know. I am just at the top of how much I should gain. So for the last part I really need to watch my eating habits. Only 64 days to go!

Doctors Appointment

We had our normal doctors appointment today. Found Calleigh's heartbeat right away as usual. This appointment I had to get tested for gestational diabetes. You know drink the nasty stuff and wait an hour then they draw some blood. I am sure that will come out fine.

I am feeling great other than back ache and leg aches. We are excited to start getting stuff really put together for Calleigh's arrival. Her room is collecting more and more stuff! Wish there was more exciting things to report but I am glad everything is just normal!

Only 78 Days to go!

Test Run

So yesterday was an eventful day for us. I hadn't been feeling all to good the last couple of days. I had been feeling pressure and a little discomfort since Monday. I thought it was from the ultrasound because we had a student and she was not the most gentle person. She pushed pretty hard on my cervix. So yesterday when I woke up I had a little spotting and some cramping. I called my doctor who of course saw me right away. He found my cervix to be fine but wanted us to go to the hospital to get an internal ultrasound just to be safe. So we got admitted to KGH, they did the ultrasound and my cervix was fine. They also hooked me up to the monitors to make sure Calleigh's heart beat was good and that I wasn't having contractions. The spotting they determined was old blood. Apparently the cervix can just bleed a little for unexplained reasons. This being my first pregnancy I wasn't about to take any chances. The Doctor put me on modified rest. Pretty much take it easy for the next few days.

So (thinking positive here) we got to pre-register and have a tour of the hospital. We are calling it our test run! At least I know what to expect when the real day does come. I will be packing my hospital bag in the next week!

Calleigh Update

We had another ultrasound this morning so they could get a good look at Calleighs heart and brain. They got all the pictures they needed. She was being a bit stubborn as usual. She is my daughter after all! Every time they would push she would kick or punch me. You could see her do it on the screen. LOL She is in the breech position. Pretty much bent in half with her hands and feet hiding her face and she did not want to move. You can see in the first picture her little hand smooshing her nose. I think she is adorable! She weighs about 2 lbs 2 oz and her heart rate was 147. Both great! Only 91 days to go!

26 Weeks

I am sitting at work trying to concentrate and it is so hard. I am distracted by the little thump thumps inside my tummy. I can't help but just stare in amazement as my little girl wiggles around. I just had a cup of hot chocolate so she is very active right now. Her kicks and hits sometimes hurt but I don't want them to stop. It lets me know she is alright. I want to know everything about what she is doing in there. I read all the websites and books. I get the weekly emails about her growth. Still amazes me. Each week something new. Each week I am that much closer to holding my little Calleigh.

Halloween

Halloween was pretty laid back this year. Ben and I went to a party dressed as a cow and farmer. My costume fit my baby bump perfectly! Halloween night we stayed home and handed out candy. The dogs did there best to scare all the little kids. Almost every one of the kids asked if the dogs were mean because they barked so much. I decided to buy them cute little outfits instead of costumes. Scooby likes to wear clothes. Phoebe not so much. But don't they just look cute!
