First Road Trip

So Friday morning we packed the car and took off for the West Side of the Mountains. Our first road trip with a baby and two weenies! FUN! The ride itself was pretty stress free. The pups are learing to sit in the back seat and Calleigh pretty much slept the entire time. She woke up to eat at each stop we made so it took a little longer than usual but not too much.

Our first stop was out to see my family in Carnation at Grams house. It was nice to see all the kids and meet my sister Retha's new baby Makayla for the first time. She is a cutie! It was a little weird being there without Grams though. The house just seemed so empty and there was no one to fill us in on the town gossip! I wish she would have been able to meet Calleigh. I miss her very much.

Next we headed to Jessica's which is where we stay. Poor Jessica had her house turned upside down when we walked in. We don't travel so light anymore :) We were all pretty tired so we just ended up hanging out and watching tv. That night however was HELL! Not only did Calleigh not like her pack and play to sleep in, she wouldn't eat, we forgot her vibrating chair and the dogs had an allergic reaction to the flea medication we gave them. We always put flea medication on the dogs before we go to the west side because there are more fleas over there. Not so much in the Tri-Cities. My dogs have never had fleas and I want to keep it that way! So anyway. Both dogs were scratching, shaking their heads, drinking tons of water and having a horrible time. Very scary for me! We have used other brands and have never had this problem. I will only use stuff from my vet from now on. So we bathed the dogs Saturday morning and then again with dish soap Sunday night. Scooby's ears are still a little red but other than that they seem fine now.

So Saturday we had lots of visitors come to meet Calleigh. Danielle and Darci stopped in. I haven't seen them in a long time and it was so good to catch up! Then Mike, Carrie, Colten, and Conner came by. Those boys are the cutest! Then Destiny came by with Courtney and Jeremy. Courtney is going to be such a great mommy one day! Jeremy was throwing toys for the dogs and apparently he has a great arm! Ben says Chris should be proud. Next Melanie and Barb came over and after visiting for a little bit we went to dinner and met Chelsea and Jason there. It was a great time. Very relaxing. Pay attention to the picture of Chelsea and Jason with Calleigh. She was practicing for when they have their babies! Thanks to everyone who took the time to come see Calleigh! She is so lucky to have so many people who love her!

After a good nights sleep Calleigh woke us up at 5:30 AM. Good thing she did because Ben checked the pass report and there was snow and lots more coming. So we got everything together and headed home. The trip came to a close with a little tumble weed rodeo out by Hanford. It was crazy! Ben is not too happy about all the scratches on the car. But it was fun dodging them!

Here are some pictures from the trip! Thanks again Jessica for letting us take over your house!

It was really good to see you again, sorry it was so short. The boys really enjoyed meeting Calleigh and daddy even asked them later that night if they wanted a sister. Not sure what was wrong with him but anyways we miss you guys lots.
